Euclyde Datacentres selected a Lift&Drive DC09 U52 server and battery lifter for its Lyon facility, where narrow passageways and overhead cable routes made equipment access a particular challenge.
The Pronomic customer case study describes an edge data centre providing local hosting for businesses. When clients needed to work on their servers, there were not always enough staff available to help with handling. Euclyde wanted equipment that clients could use to position servers while reducing the risk of injury and damage.
Reaching the rack was only part of the task. The lifter also had to pass beneath cable gates and through low, narrow passages. Euclyde selected the DC09 U52 because its telescopic mast could retract for these routes and extend to reach the upper rack positions.
A tight turning radius helped it negotiate confined bends. The adjustable handlebar allowed different users to set a suitable operating position.
Alongside the physical fit, Euclyde wanted a supplier nearby. Pronomic emerged as a potential supplier during the search for a handling solution.

The case study reports that the selected lifter allowed servers to be mounted throughout the racks while fitting the facility’s restricted layout. It also highlights straightforward operation for different users, an important consideration where clients work on their own equipment.
The project illustrates why server-lifter selection needs to consider the complete route: rack height, doorway clearance, overhead obstructions, aisle width and turning space, as well as the load.
